Conversation with Harmeet Kaur

Harmeet Kaur is a journalist for CNN focusing specifically on race, identity and social justice. She also writes for CNN’s award-winning 5 Things newsletter. Prior to shifting to written reporting, Harmeet was a producer for CNN’s digital team where she curated headlines and story framing and also worked in CNN’s live television production.

Harmeet has reported from the field on stories ranging from 9/11's impact on South Asians to catastrophic flooding in eastern Kentucky. She has a special focus on Asian and Indigenous communities.

Kaur is a graduate of Emory University, where she studied international affairs and journalism. She will discuss her day-to-day work as a journalist, what makes a compelling story, and the role of Sikhi and sangat in her life.
